Brookfield won its sixth straight JV baseball game, upending Monroe City, 7-4, Monday night.
The Bulldogs took advantage of Panthers' miscues in the first inning. Xavier Sada was hit by a pitch, stole second and scored when Westen Davis reached on a ground ball error. Davis later scored on a passed ball. Weston Linscott reached on an error and scored on Dayten Glasgow's double to left, while Glasgow came around and scored on an error. The Panthers scored three runs in the 2nd inning, drawing to within, 4-3, but the Bulldogs tacked on three runs in the third with no outs. Sada walked, stole second and scored on a passed ball. Davis singled and Ross Ehrich walked. Both were driven in by RBI base hits by Linscott and Glasgow. The Panthers scored a run in the third, but Sada fanned the final two batters, ending the game. Glasgow (2 RBI, 2B, run) led the 'Dogs with two hits, while Davis (2 runs, SB), Linscott (RBI, run) and Noah Williams (3B) collected a hit apiece. Ehrich scored a run on a walk. Sada scored two runs on a hit by pitch and walk and stole two bases. He also picked up the win, pitching three innings and allowing three unearned runs on six hits and a walk, He had four strikeouts.
