Marceline outlasted Brookfield, 6-4, in an abbreviated JV baseball game yesterday.
The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first with back-to-back doubles by Ryder Techau and Weston Linscott. The Tigers scored three times in the bottom of the inning. The 'Dogs answered with three runs in the top of the second. Danik Baker singled, Nathan Schoeneberg reached on an error and Nick Sharp walked. Bryson Shoop drove in a run with an RBI groundout, and Ross Ehrich followed with an RBI double. Gage Ludington walked to reload the bases, and Linscott hit an RBI single for Brookfield's final run. The Tigers scored three runs in the bottom of the second. Neither team threatened in the third. Linscott (2B, 2 RBI) collected two hits, while Baker (run, SB), Shoop (RBI, run, SB) and Techau (2B, run) each added a hit. Sharp and Ludington had a walk apiece. Ehrich pitched a clean inning, allowing no runs or hits, while striking out one. He also collected an RBI double. The JV Bulldogs visit Clark County on April 18th. Story by: Dennis Hughes
