Brookfield faced stiff competition during Monday's Brookfield Middle School Invitational, but answered the challenge with many season-best performances. The Bulldogs also had their share of medalists amongst the talented 12-school field. Vann Duncan was 2nd in the 100 hurdles (18.08), Ryan Cochenour was 3rd, with a personal best, in the 400 (1:00.85), Deacon Brown was 3rd in the triple jump (10.24m) and Lewis DeFries was 5th in the 1600 (5:59.89) winning medals for the Bulldogs' boys, who finished 6th with 60 team points. The 4x100 relay team (Jaxon Sibley, Duncan, John Foster, Cochenour) also medaled, finishing 2nd (53.53). The 4x400 relay team (DeFries, Brown, Foster, Sibley) was 4th in a personal best (4:30.69). Foster (6th in the 400 - 1:04.66), Eli Yates (8th in the 100 hurdles - 20.71); 12th in the 800 - 2:47.19) and Emmet Haley 7th in shot put - 9.70m) also set personal records. Payslie Alexander captured two individual medals while achieving personal bests (3rd in long jump - 4.11m) and 5th in the 100 - 14.68) for the Lady Bulldogs, who were 5th with 59 team points. Taryn Montgomery (3rd in discus - 20.68m), Shayne Lumsden (3rd in shot - 9.0m), Makenna Munsterman (4th in shot - 8.75m), Lexi Littrell (5th in 200 - 30.32) and Rozlyn Severa (5th in 1600 - 6:39.85) also medaled with personal records. The 4x400 relay team (Severa, Madalynn Williams, Holly Sensenich, Abby Rollison) set a personal best, finishing 5th in 5:11. Severa (6th in the 800 - 2:55.52), Natalie Lovenduski (7th in the 1600 - 6:51.47), Rollison (7th in the 100 hurdles - 21.63) and Sensenich (12th in the 400 - 1:13.02) also set personal records.
