As the weather warms up, so has Brookfield baseball, as the Bulldogs won their fourth game in the past five, blanking Tri-County, 9-0, yesterday. All starters contributed to the team victory with timely hitting and solid pitching.
Bryson Shoop pitched four innings in relief to earn the win, allowing just one hit and striking out four. Shoop also led the 'Dogs with two hits, including a two-run RBI in the second inning, sparking a 4-run frame and 5-0 lead. The Mustangs never seriously threatened, with only one base runner making it as far as third base during the game. Garret Wood started on the rubber, allowing no hits and fanning four in two innings, and Riley Hinckle followed for an inning, giving up a hit and striking out one. Peyton Parn, Hank Parks (2 HBP), Gage Ludington and Wood (SB) each collected a hit, run and RBI, while Colton Parn (run, SB), Trayce Switzer (2 runs, 2 BB, SB) and Ryder Techau (2B, run, BB) also had a hit apiece. Riley Hinckle added a sacrifice fly RBI. The Bulldogs (4-7) travel to Clark County today. Story by: Dennis Hughes
