Smantha Sharp topped the podium with two victories, guiding Brookfield's girls to 6th place in the team standings at the Gary Ewing Invitational. Twenty schools participated at the annual event held at Brookfield's Cochran Field.
Sharp, who lapped the field in the 3200 run (11:59.09) and won the 1600 (5:55.83), earned 20 of the Lady Bulldogs 44 team points, while Kylin King collected 10 points, and Clara Hoyt recorded six points. The trio also contributed to another four points in relays. King was 4th in both the 400 (1:04.75) and 200 (28.86), and Hoyt finished 4th in the 3200 (13:30.32) and 8th in the 1600 (6:31.13). Maggie Bennett was 6th in the 100 hurdles (18.59) and 9th in 300 hurdles (57.55), while the 4x800 relay team (Jenna Keller, Hoyt, King, Sharp) was 6th in 11:12.40. The 4x200 (Addyson Bunnell, Maddie Wilbeck, Emree Littrell, Jayden Kellar) and 4x400 (Jenna Keller, Bennett, Bunnell, King) relay squads each finished 8th in 1:59.86 and 4:42.89, respectively. Austin Lewis (10th in long jump - 4.32m) and Breckin Thudium (9th in shot put - 9.3m; 10th in discus - 24.99m) had top-10 finishes for the Lady Bulldogs. Bridger Grimshaw led the boys with five of their 10 team points, finishing 6th in pole vault (3.35m) and 7th in the 300 hurdles (46.38). He contributed to another two points in relays. Wyatt Garber was 7th in the triple jump (11.19m), and the 4x100 (Aidden Buckner, Kameron Perry, Kendrell Carter, Coldon Parrent - 47.61), 4x200 (Grimshaw, Perry, Carter, Parrent - 1:40.02) and 4x400 (Grimshaw, Garber, Parrent, Perry - 3:55.41) relays teams each finished 8th.
