​Cooper Clarkson regrouped after a rough opening round, firing one of the lowest rounds on the second day to finish in top third of the field at the MSHSAA Class 2 State Boys Golf Championship. Clarkson followed a 95 on Day 1 with a final round of 80 to finish in a tie for 31st in the field of 92 golfers. Only six golfers bettered the junior's second-round score over the par-72 course at Smithville's Paradise Pointe Golf Complex.

Brookfield's Cooper Clarkson collected eight pars, firing an 83 in Friday's Class 2 District 4 Golf Tournament at the Hidden Valley Golf Course in Lawson.

Clarkson got hot on the back nine of the par-72 course, rolling in six pars for a 39. Clarkson's sizzling finish propelled him to All-District honors and a spot in the Class 2 State Golf Championships at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithfield. The two-day event begins on May 13th.

Lucky Poston carded a 120 for the Bulldogs.

Cooper Clarkson shot a pair of 85s, one in Monday's Lawson Invitational and the other in Tuesday's Grand River Conference Tournament, accumulating 16 pars in the process. He carded nine pars, including three in a row and five of six on the back nine of Lawson's par-72 Hidden Valley Golf Course. Clarkson had seven pars on Chillicothe's par-72 Green Hills Golf Course the next day.

Lucky Poston shot a 109, Briar Montgomery a 110 and Jake Gladbach a 132 at Lawson. All three had a par for the Bulldogs, who finished 11th out of the 16 competing teams.

The Bulldogs travel to Hannibal for today's CCC tournament.

Blayde Lindsay carded a 119, and Cordray Baker and Matthew Taylor each shot 127 for  Brookfield's JV team at Monday's Marceline Open.

Cooper Clarkson carded an 82 in yesterday's Chillicothe Invitational. He finished 18th in a field of 63 golfers over the par-72 Green Hills Golf Course.

Brookfield dropped a dual match against a superior Chillicothe squad, which set a nine-hole team record on its home course.

Nevertheless, the Bulldogs were undaunted. Lucky Poston shot a 50 on the par-36 Green Hills Golf Course, while Gabe Leonard carded a 57 and Jake Gladbach shot 58.

Briar Montgomery shot a 60; Cole Collins had a 62; and Matthew Taylor shot a 70.

The Bulldogs tee it up next at Thursday's Chillicothe Tournament.

Cooper Clarkson carded a 89, finishing 10th, in yesterday's Brookfield Boys Invitational at the Brookfield Country Club's par 72 golf course.

Lucky Poston fired a 98, while Gabe Leonard had a 114, Cole Collins a 117 and Briar Montgomery shot 128.
Jake Gladbach led the Bulldogs JV team with a 127. Matthew Taylor carded a 130, Colton Howell had a 133, Cordray Baker a 139 and Blayde Lindsay shot 141.

Cooper Clarkson carded a 79, finishing in a tie for 3rd, in Wednesday's Marceline Invitational. Clarkson recorded two birdies and five pars during his round at the Par-70 Marceline Golf Course.

Briar Montgomery shot a 129 and had a birdie, while Jake Gladbach and Cordray Baker each shot 131.

Cooper Clarkson had an impressive round at Tuesday's Spartan Invitational in a talented field that featured 16 schools. The junior fired an 88 over the par-70 Heritage Hills Golf Course in Moberly, finishing 5th in his group and in the top 20 overall.

Lucky Poston shot 113, Cole Collins shot 130 and Jake Gladbach shot 137 for the Bulldogs, who enjoyed perfect weather on the links.

The Bulldogs tee it up today at the Marceline Invitational.

Cooper Clarkson shot a 45 to pace Brookfield in Monday's boys golf dual team match against South Shelby. Clarkson's round included three pars over the nine-hole, par-36 Brookfield Country Club course.

Gabe Leonard carded a 54, including two pars, and Lucky Poston had a 56.

Cordray Baker and Cole Collins rounded out the Bulldogs' effort with a 67 and 68, respectively.

Brookfield next tees it up in the Boonville Tournament on April 4th.
