Brookfield scored early and often, cruising to a 13-2 varsity softball win in its home opener against Putnam County. The Midgets scored a run in the top of the first, but the Lady Bulldogs batted around, plating six runs in their half of the inning. Hadyle Sackrey (1B, 2B, BB, 3 RBI, 2 runs) and Gracyn Beckman (2B, SF, HBP, 2 RBI, run) each produced RBI singles, and Greenlee McCollum (3 1B, SB, 2 RBI, 2 runs) drove in two with a base hit. Mya Sackrey (3 1B, SB, 2 RBI, 2 runs) capped the scoring with an RBI single, her second base knock of the frame, and the 'Dogs never looked back. Ashlyn Calvert (1B, BB, 2 runs) and Tylynn Almond (2 BB, run) each reached base twice, and Austin Lewis (1B, SB, run) and Emree Littrell (1B, 2 SB, 3 runs) each stroked singles for the Bulldogs (1-1). The JV Lady Dogs completed the sweep with a 7-3 victory. Lily Willis (1B, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 runs) snapped a 3-3 fourth-inning tie with a two-run double. Gracie Daller (1B, BB, RBI, run) added an RBI single, and Reese Neal (1B, BB, RBI) completed the scoring, working a bases-loaded walk. Makenna Munsterman (2 1B) led the 'Dogs with 3 RBI, while Holly Sensenich (1B, 2 runs), Remi Berger and Abby Rollison each had a base hit and a run.
