Elementary School Frequently Asked Questions
What time does school start and what time are students dismissed?
School begins at 8:00 AM. If students want to eat breakfast, they need to be here by 7:40 AM. School dismisses at 3:10 PM. If you are picking your child up, you will need to wait on Pershing Dr. until the buses have pulled through and then pull onto campus. Your hangtag will need to be visible and your child will be waiting at the main doors when you pull around.
What do I do if my child is going to be absent from school?
If your child is going to miss school for any reason, please notify the elementary office as soon as possible. If you call and get the voicemail, please leave a message including your child’s name and reason for the absence. If your child is going to be absent for a long period of time for any reason, please contact the teacher in advance so that the homework can be sent home with your child.
What if I want to pick my child up instead of them riding the bus home?
You will need to send a note to the school in your child’s folder. If something happens during the day and you were not able to send a note that morning, please call the school and you will be asked to email one of the secretaries. We need the information before 2:00 p.m. in order to get the notes down to the classrooms.
