Big Seventh Inning Leads Macon Past Brookfield Varsity LadyDogs

Macon scored eight runs in the seventh inning, which helped them defeat Brookfield Varsity LadyDogs 15-8 on Tuesday.
A double by A Weisenborn put Macon on the board in the top of the first.
Brookfield Varsity LadyDogs made the score 4-2 in the bottom of the first after Piper Thudium drew a walk, scoring one run, Emree Littrell singled, scoring one run, and Hadlye Sackrey singled, scoring two runs.
A double by Sackrey extended the Brookfield Varsity LadyDogs lead to 5-3 in the bottom of the third inning.
P Applebury lined into a double play, which helped Macon tie the game at five in the top of the fifth.
In the bottom of the fifth, Brookfield Varsity LadyDogs broke up the tie when Makenna Munsterman singled, scoring one run. Then a fielder's choice by Lily Willis followed to extend the lead to 8-5.
R Barnett homered to center field, scoring two runs in the top of the sixth for the Macon.
Macon flipped the game on its head in the top of the seventh, scoring eight runs on five hits to take the lead, 15-8. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two.
P Weimer earned the win for Macon. The starter allowed six hits and eight runs (six earned) over seven innings, striking out 13 and walking three. Ashlyn Calvert took the loss for Brookfield Varsity LadyDogs. The hurler went seven innings, giving up 15 runs (three earned) on 14 hits, striking out six and walking four.
Sackrey provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Brookfield Varsity LadyDogs with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Sackrey and Littrell each collected two hits for Brookfield Varsity LadyDogs. Thudium stole two bases. Brookfield Varsity LadyDogs turned one double play in the game.
