Brookfield broke open a close contest with a big third quarter, cruising past Polo, 54-20, in front of a large homecoming crowd at Burlington Field.

Trayce Switzer was 6-of-13 for 183 yards and three touchdowns passing and rushed for 51 yards and another score to pace the Bulldogs, who remain undefeated (4-0).

Coldon Parrent and Kendrell Carter each scored a TD on 11 carries, while gaining 158 and 116 yards, respectively. Peyton Parn added a pair of TDs and 108 yards on four catches.

The 'Dogs started quickly, as Carter scored on a short plunge following a 39-yard run, and Switzer scored from 29 yards out, giving Brookfield a 14-0 lead.

The Panthers responded with a pair of scores to tie the game at 14-14, but Switzer hit Hayden DeJong with a 66-yard catch and run, putting the Bulldogs back up, 22-14.

Polo managed to drive inside the Bulldogs' 3-yard line, but were unable to score before the first half expired. However, the Panthers capitalized on an interception on the first play from scrimmage in the second half and scored to draw within 22-20.

But the momentum quickly shifted back to the 'Dogs, as they scored four consecutive third-quarter TDs.

Following a Devan Parn rushing score, homecoming king Siope Pulu forced a fumble with a sack and recovered the football deep in Panthers' territory. Parrent took advantage of the miscue with a 15-yard scamper, and Devan Parn added another TD with a 32-yard interception return. Peyton Parn capped the third quarter barrage with a 22-yard TD reception. Within just minutes, Brookfield was on top, 46-20.

Peyton Parn added another TD in the fourth quarter for the final margin.

The defense, which yielded very little in the second half, was led by Peyton Parn, who collected 7.5 tackles. Lucky Poston and Cooper Holland each had six tackles, and Gabe Leonard had five.

Devan Parn recorded 3.5 tackles and 4 quarterback hurries to go along with his pick 6, while Aidden Buckner also had 3.5 tackles (1 for a loss) and 4 QB hurries. Pulu chipped in with 3 tackles, 2 for loss.
