Lady Dogs Stay Hot

Brookfield blanked Knox County and clipped Canton en route to capturing second place in the Schuyler Varsity Softball Tournament.


Two six-run innings paved the way for the Lady Dogs in their 12-0 win against Knox County.


Ashlyn Calvert collected a double, run and two RBI, while Emree Littrell (1B, 2B), Hadlye Sackrey (1B, 2 BB, SB), Kylin King (1B, 2B, SB) and Emma Sensenich (2B, BB) each recorded an RBI and scored two runs, and Greenlee McCollum (HBP) added an RBI and a run.


Mya Sackrey had three walks, three stolen bases and a run scored; Austin Lewis walked and scored a run; and Gracyn Beckman chipped in an RBI for the 'Dogs, who limited the Eagles to four base runners.


Hadlye Sackrey collected three singles, two stolen bases and scored twice, and Greenlee McCollum knocked in a pair of runs, singled and walked to lead the Lady Dogs in their 5-2 win against Canton. Ashlyn Calvert (run) and Kaecen Brown each drove in a run, and Emma Sensenich and Austin Lewis (BB) each had a single and a run scored.


Gracyn Beckman had a base knock, and Mya Sackrey drew a walk.


The Lady Dogs fell, 9-2, in what was determined to be the championship game.


Hadlye Sackrey singled, walked, stole a base, scored a run and had an RBI, and Mya Sackrey doubled, walked, swiped a bag and scored a run for Brookfield.


Gracyn Beckman had an RBI double, and Austin Lewis drew a walk for the Lady Dogs (14-6).
