Brookfield won three straight games to claim second place in the Nan Carter Softball Tournament. The Lady Dogs dropped an 8-6 decision to Gallatin, before knocking off Trenton, 11-0, Platte Valley, 15-6 and Princeton, 8-2. Despite outclassing Trenton in their game, Brookfield lost out on "top-dog" honors due to a runs-allowed tiebreaker. Trenton allowed one less run than the 'Dogs to win the three-way tiebreaker, which also included Gallatin.

The Lady Dogs started quickly in their opener, as Hadlye Sacrey cracked a two-run home run. However, Gallatin answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning and built an 8-3 lead after three frames. The 'Dogs battled back with three runs in the fifth, capped by a two-run double by Ashlyn Calvert, but could get no closer.

The Lady Dogs regrouped against Trenton, scoring three early runs en route to a 6-0 lead after four. Greenlee McCollum's two-run triple and Mya Sackrey's two-run homer keyed a five-run burst in the fifth to put the game away.

Brookfield cruised to a 13-0 lead against Platte Valley, fueled by Mya Sackrey's second two-run HR and Gracyn Beckman's grand slam. The Broncos batted around in the bottom of third, scoring six runs and making the game a focus of interest in regards to the tiebreaker.

In the finale, Princeton plated a pair of runs in the top of the first, but Brookfield responded with a five spot, sparked by single RBI by the Sackrey duo and Calvert. The Lady Dogs added three more runs, while holding the Tigers scoreless the rest of the game.

Mya Sackrey collected four hits, a walk, six RBI and eight runs, and Gracyn Beckman also had four hits - including a double, six RBI and four runs for the day. Ashlyn Calvert recorded five hits - including a double and triple, five RBI and two runs, while Hadlye Sackrey had three hits - including a triple, three RBI, seven runs and three walks; Emree Littrell had four singles, a walk and scored seven runs; and Greenlee McCollum added a single, triple, two walks, two RBI, five runs and stolen base.

Austin Lewis (2 runs) and Kaecen Brown (HBP, BB, SB, 3 runs) had three and two hits, respectively.

Tylynn Almond added a hit; Lily Willis had an RBI; and Emma Sensenich (2 runs) and Kylin King (SB) each coaxed a walk for the Lady Dogs (10-5).
