Fueled by five pars, Kierstyn Sutch fired a 94, finishing in a tie for 7th at the Westran Invitational. The Brookfield sophomore was awarded 8th based on a tiebreaker. Sutch parred the final two holes on the difficult Heritage Hills Golf Course in Moberly.
An ailing Maggie Bennett soldiered through the rolling terrain, carding a 98 with four pars and tying for 11th in a talented 86-player field.
"Maggie was miserable all day, but kept going," Coach Rachel Hays said. "It was a hilly course, and I am proud of all of them."
Lexi Littrell shot a 118 with two pars, while Riley Howell shot 120 and Madalynn Williams carded a 130 for the Lady Dogs, who finished 7th (18 teams) with a team score of 430.
