What time does school start and what time can I drop my student off?
School starts at 8:00 a.m. Students can be dropped off at 7:15 a.m. at which time the exterior doors will be open and staff members are available to supervise students. Students arriving between 7:15-7:30 a.m. will report to the Middle School gym where they will be seated until 7:30 a.m. At that time, students are released to their classrooms.
What do I need to do if my student is going to be absent?
If your student is going to be absent, regardless of the reason, you are asked to contact the Middle School Office prior to 9:00 a.m. on the day of the absence. If you do not call, we will contact you in an effort to verify the absence.
How do I request work when my student is going to be absent?
Contact the Middle School Office to request work. Please do not contact individual teachers as efforts to gather a student’s work need to be handled systematically. In the case that you request work, you will be asked to come to school to collect it at a time agreed upon by you and school officials.
What are the reasons my student would be asked/required to stay after school and what time should I pick him/her up?
Students may be asked to stay after school for several reasons including the following:
•Tutoring with a specific teacher who has requested that your child stay for additional academic support
•ELO (Extended Learning Opportunity) as a result of an incomplete ZAP (late or missing assignment)
•After School Detention assigned for violation of school policies or procedural guidelines
In all cases, students will be released at 4:00 p.m., at which time parents are responsible for transportation.
