Brookfield R-III Parent Education Program
Brookfield R-III Parent Education Program is a voluntary parent education program offered by the district, serving families who are expecting a child or have children under the age of kindergarten entry. The purpose of the Parent Education Program is to help establish positive partnerships between home, school and the community, as well as play a vital role in supporting families and children from the very beginning toward school readiness.
The Brookfield program provides home visits with families to promote early learning, knowledge and understanding of important developmental milestones. The program also offers periodic screenings to increase parents' understanding of their children's developmental progress, as well as inform them of any possible delays. Early intervention for identified concerns helps improve school readiness for young children. In addition to home visits and screenings, the program also offers group connections through the school year to support and prepare children and families as they transition into preschool and kindergarten. The Brookfield Parent Education Program currently has one parent educator, Mrs. Tiffany Baum, whose office is located in the Early Childhood building. If you are interested in participating in the program, or have questions, please contact Mrs. Baum at 660-258-2159 or [email protected]. You may also contact Ms. Denise Carlson, program supervisor, at 660-258-2159 or [email protected]. |
